Love the tone, but I'm very biased as I have been an Audley fan for the longest time.

It's very good, better than JLV....but seriously, I have seen him live and it was too loud and muddy. That clip is cool though.

Behold the power of Matchless. That's some pretty killer tone. Matchless just has that "thang" that I have never been able to find in other amps.

I dig it - I understand that he's going for the "chime" - but for me it's a tad too bright. But a killer player and it does work for what he's doing - I liked that Gold Top - when he rolled down - it was pretty Tele'esque.

Great - love Audley's playing and tone. A little less bass and it'd be about perfect for me.

That was my thought after repeated views. I'd like a little less treble.

That was great, and I like the amount of treble (taking drums & bass into consideration). I don't think that Matchless amps is even a close circuit, but my Reinhardt JKC33 sounds A LOT like that tone. Well, except that Audley is 10 times the player I am. I love when he steps on the Analogman Beano Boost.

Audley always has amazing tone. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him one afternoon for about 5hrs, while he was trying out various guitar/amp/pedal combinations, and asking for input. Very nice guy, and killer player.

Audley Freed is my favorite guitarist. His tone is my template. I do think it's funny how some people comment that his tone has too treble or bass or whatever. It's pretty hard to tell something like that until you crank up with a band. Until you hear it context, you really don't know if you have too much or too little of anything. That's just me though. I think all of us, at one time or another, have had great tone in our bedrooms only to find out it doesn't work with the band...and I'm sure most of us have not had enough mids and highs in those cases.

Great player, but the tone is average and a bit too tinny for me.
