OK, so you're ordering an EL84 head and 2x12 cab, and you have a choice of colors. What are you choosing?

I'm assuming that, for resale value (in case you think you might resell), you would choose black. If you're the type of person that would choose black just because of resale value (i.e. black may not be your preference but you're a prudent buyer) then please select black. Otherwise, choose the color you'd prefer.

I like that green tolex that sort of looks worn and leathery--almost black or dark gray from certain angles. WILLIEKENDRICK is selling a Marshall JTm clone in the emporium with the covering I'm talking about.

Thanks for the heads-up. That's sort of along the lines of my "Dark Green" poll option.

If anyone has pics of other than black head/cab configurations, please do post them.

"Blue".....the rarest of all tolex colors!

OTHO, Randal Aiken says "purple amps sound the best", so you may want to go with that.....

I prefer black or earth tones. I didn't see any shades of brown/tan/blond on the list. ;)

Second favorite would be a navy with a medium tone wheat colored grill, or deep burgundy with black or wheat grill. :)

Yep, deliberately left the tan/brown tones out. This is a Marshall flavored amp, so I'm trying not to cross over the line.

I tried to imagine a Plexi in Tweed. :jo

Purple's getting more votes than red!?!?!

Whatever you do, if you're taking a shower on TGP, don't drop the soap.

I would say Blue, but it's not on there. So maybe Purple. Unless you're in to Orange (Amps that is) like me.

Ah... sorry, I wasn't thinking about that. But hey, maybe it's time to be daring? ;)

    And British Plum it is!!

    The order just went in.

I've had only black amps in the past, so I decided to do something different.

If you look at that link, I chose something between purple/blue, and it's called Plum.

The builder agreed that it's a great color.

The poll says it all. frankly, I was surprised since I thought Dark Green would win it.

I like black. It is more subtle and less likely to draw attention from my wife. Especially compared to a Orange amp with white faceplate sitting on an Orange cab! I love the looks but man, theose are bright :D

Purple can be awesome looking too. Get a color that you like, to hell with resale ;)

Sometimes black shows tolex dings worse than anything because you can see the wood peeking through!

I ordered my Splawn head/cab in purple. I always wanted a "purple plexi" looking setup :)
    My Dr. Z is white.

Green buggy whip taurus. I saw a Fargen Blackbird covered in that once and still wish I had bought that amp, just based on its looks!

Enjoy your plum amp. I used to be a basic black guy, but now I'm glad that amps are getting more colorful.
