I've got a couple builds starting up and I'm flummoxed by this piece of walnut I'm using for one of the bodies.

There is a pencil outline although it can be hard to see.
Single cut, lp style, but with a belly contour.

The wood is bone dry in these pics. Maybe I should wipe it down to pop the grain before deciding...

In any case, which orientation would you choose?

    A

I voted 'A'. It better eliminates the bulk of the flat sawn area.

A, the match between pieces is better, although B has a more J-Lo look

I guess at 11-0, it's pretty clear the A's have it.

I was leaning towards A anyway, but if I might defend B for a moment, it looks better than the pics make it look. There's something interesting/unusual about it that is tempting.

    But anyway, going with A.

    Thanks!

B is the backside of A. (flipped end to end).

It's glued and clamped now. Haven't hit the point of no return... B could still make a comeback!!

    17-1 ! who voted B? (it wasn't me!)
