    1) Snake Oil
    2) D'Addarios
    3) Ernie Ball

I use D'Addarios all the time, mostly because they're easy to get and I don't break 'em, but SO strings are awesome. My dad always bought me Ernie Balls when I was younger, so I'm used to those as well. I'll use em every once in a while.

I like D'Addario XL's the most.. if my body chemistry didn't destroy GHS boomers so quickly I'd use them more.

    * D'Addario XL's for 'lectric...
    * Elixirs (Nanoweb) on the 'coustics (although I want to try that 'ClearTone' stuff)

And that's it... I've dabbled in a lot of string brands (SOS, EB, DR, etc.), but I can't think of a #2 string because... well, when I find a set that work for me, there isn't a #2... there's the brand I use, and then there's brand I don't use.

Started off using Dean Markleys back in 1975....tried about 1/2 dozen other brands over the years and always came back to the Markleys. They just seem to have better tone, last longer and actually stay in tune better than any of the others I've tried. I have however tried the Everly's B-52 strings and they are in a close running with the Dean Markleys. Although I haven't tried Snake Oil Strings yet...

I don't think I'd rank these in any particular order - each brand has it's merits and sound better on certain guitars for me...

GHS Boomers (I like the TNTs)
    Snake Oil Rock Formula
    Elixirs for acoustic

    1. Snake Oil Brand (thanks for the great strings Dean!)

    2. Pyramid (but they don't make a 9.5 set!)

    3. D'Addario XL (because they do make a 9.5 set)

+1 on Everly B-52's. They really do seem to last longer.

1: FireWire Strings (duh...) electric, acoustic, bass

    2: D'addario -electric

    3: GHS -bass

Never got to try Pearse but seem like something I would like too and super nice people; they gave me free stuff (picks etc...)at the Nashville NAMM in 2003 even while I was wearing my FireWire Strings shirt and knew I was with that company!!!
