I found the GB guitar made for Polytone by Ibanez. Starting bid is $800. Seems like a pretty obscure guitar.

Anyone got an opinion on a fair price?

I would think that George used Polytone amps at the time.
I have never seen one of these, but I doubt they called it a George Benson Model at the time. This was a pretty unique design for it's time.
I don't know about those P inlays on the neck.

HOLY COW...they had a few models!! Even a BASS!!
I thought I had seen it all since 1977, when I got into this Guitar "stuff" LOL.
I don't ever remember seeing an ad for Polytone guitars.

The'George Benson' reference appears to be simply an ebay search tag for the listing.

You should go to the IbanezCollectors forum and do a search on Polytone. This guitar, and its (non-) relationship to Ibanez has been discussed there. Bottom line is that this guitar may have been made in one of the factories that Ibanez used, but Ibanez didn't "make" it. Doesn't mean it's not a great guitar though.
