Apologies if this has been done a million times, but I thought I'd get some critique on the list of songs im working on right now. Have you tried some and they just flopped? Anything you'd like to add to the list? I dig the electronic stuff and plan to use tracks for some of the songs. Band will be three people (guitar/vocals, bass/vocals, drummer).

    Crazy - relient K
    Panic station - muse
Take me out - Franz Ferdinand
    Closing time - semisonic
    Hysteria - muse
Use somebody - Kings of Leon
    Billie Jean - Chris Cornell
Somebody like you - Keith urban
    Rude - magic!
Sexy and I know it - christian porter
    I don't wanna be - Gavin Degraw
    Misery - maroon5
    Toxic - Matthew mayfield
War pigs (end jam) - sabbath
    Ruby - kaiser chiefs
When you were young - killers
    Uptown funk - mark ronson
Shutup and dance - walked the moon
Thinking out loud - Ed Sheeran
    Yellow - coldplay
    Radioactive - imagine dragons
    Counting stars - one republic
    Too close - alex Clare
Love runs out - one republic
    Pompeii - Bastille
    I lived - one republic
    Pressure - the 1975
    Sail - AWOLNATION
A sky full of stars - coldplay
    Chasing cars - snow patrol
    Fix you - Coldplay
Are you gonna be my girl - jet
    Beautiful day - U2
    Wake me up - avicii

    Lameness of backing tracks aside..

I think they're mostly good songs, except for the Sabbath one (not my thing though - it's also random and doesn't fit the rest of the stuff you've picked).

Ditch Fix You by Coldplay - too slow and sappy. Asides from those two songs, pretty solid.

If you're intending to be an up-to-date top 40 cover band, then you're horribly out of date... if it's more general pop stuff, then I think this is a pretty solid set asides from the two absolute duds I mentioned.

I don't really intend to be a super up to date top40 band. Im not a high tenor so a lot of it is out of my range, trying to do more stuff I can nail starting out then over time rekey other current stuff to where I can sing it. A small handful of songs in the list will be rekeyed, but I already know where to put it.

Thanks for the input. I'll modify the list. The thought on the sabbath song was to end a set with the last minute of the jam tacked on to something like take me out. Kind of out in left field and unexpected, but cool. I agree that playing the whole song doesn't fit, but im definitely willing to cut that idea if it doesn't work.

Yeah if tacking sabbath onto Franz Ferdinand, why not? Haha.

I thought you meant the whole song. Lol.

    Cool.
