Port City cabs........a quick question

How would you describe the response of the OS Wave cabs ?

Are they like a closed back ported cab.......deep bass, but still tight/focused

or

Something like a 3/4 open back........good dispersion, not as focused/directional

I'm looking to pair down to a couple of 1x12's. I know one of them is going to be a closed back oversized (non-ported). I don't know whether to get a Wave cab or just a regular 3/4 or 1/2 back cab for the other. I really want to try out Port City since I hear so much about them. And my closed-back 1x12 will match up perfectly dimension-wise with a Port City OS 1x12.

ported cabs are more similar to closed back than open back - dispersion and response wise. I'd get a 1/3 to 1/4 open back (2/3 to 3/4 closed) to get more of the best of both worlds approach.
That said, I have the best luck with open and ported combination, as single speaker closed/sealed cabs sound "boxey" to me. Of course, 2 EVM12Ls help.

Best cabs ive ever heard. You cant go wrong with one IMHO but if ya dont like it im sure it will re sell pretty quick.
