I need to buy one for work and was hoping to get recommendations from my fellow TGPers. It would be used with my dell laptop to scan records into pdf format. I anticipate possibly having to scan hundreds of pages. I see there are several brands and models to choose from, so just looking for any advice. Thanks in advance.

I use an Epson DS-30. Small form factor and USB bus powered, meaning no external power supply needed. Works really well for me.

I have an iris scan that works ok. Hi, med, or lo resolution. Color or black and white. My first book is due in August and I've been scanning pics and documents with it. Nothing to compare it to though. But works ok. Batteries though.

I tried the Epson DS-30 but it was too slow. I ended getting an Epson DS-510 and its worked great so far for what I needed.

I use the ds30 when I work out of my vehicle so size and no external power were a big deal. But yeah, it is not fast at all.

Glad you found something that works for you.
