My friend and fellow Thankful Dads guitarist, Jim, is just now out of the ICU following a second heart valve replacement surgery after his first set of valve replacement from around late Nov. went bad. I'd never even heard of this happening to anyone before. The poor guy has barely picked up a guitar since the original surgery as they had to cut open his sternum to do it and he was told not to lift anything at all for some time. Now he's going through it all over again. The things we complain about in our lives, much of it is meaningless and sometimes the good stuff we should be acknowledging, we let it slip by. Get well soon, Bro'.

My dad had valve replacement surgery and another valve repaired a couple of years ago. I saw him in the ICU after he came out and he was pretty battered. Heart surgery is no picnic - glad your friend made it though and I wish him well on his recovery. Much positive vibes sent.

Best wishes and fast healing to Jim. I have a strong recollection of exactly how a guy feels after that operation (GRIN, or more honestly, GROAN).

The healing takes awhile, but it does get better every day, little by little. The only bright spots are, 1) They can repair his - I've never heard of a a replaced valve going bad, but obviously it can happen, and 2) You get the great scar and bragging rights.

Healing vibes sent from one who's been there, Dana O.

    Best to your friend!

I'm dealing with some health issues that are keeping me from playing much, but it'll be better son.

Good luck to Jim and family. This aging thing sure has its drawbacks.
