This singer (Jen Knight) just blows me away, this is part of the new Neil Young Tribute album I was asked to play bass on:

All these songs are very moving & all ... but not really goose bumps (YMMV) ... but check out ELVIS ... from the '68 Comeback Special ... it's a very bumpy ride (did that come out right???) ... check out from 38:10 ... killer ...

Of course it's ymmv, so I guess I don't see the point of saying these are moving and all, but no goosebumps.

To embed, you just remove everything before and including the equal sign, highlight the remainder and hit the Youtube button. I feel like this should be a sticky at the top of every forum. Ymmv.

Yeah, Christina's performance at the Hope For Haiti broadcast was a highlight and chill inducing. Alicia Keys' was as well:

for some reason this cover rattles me. Delicate but haunting, best listened to in silence with no distractions

I recall hearing this for the first time on the John Peel radio show in the late 70's. Scary and disturbing song: "Looting, Burning, Rape". Goosebumps, yes, most definitely.

    YES.

When I saw this thread, the very first thing I thought of was Stan Rogers... these also get me every time.

    Great thread!

This. Every single time. I think it's one of the best performances of all time.

Recorded outdoors at around 2.30am near a lake, you can hear the geese protesting.

If you're unfamiliar with it, check out Hindemith's Trauermusik (look for one of the viola versions on YouTube))---incredibly and satisfyingly sublime.

Here's one from another artist (and another thread I started) that I rediscovered---I was shocked at how it affected/affects me:
