I used to really like electronic music, but after spending a year in Miami and hearing the most god awful, lowest common denominator dance music all the time I grew to really dislike it. During this time I was also starting to seriously get into guitar and other types of music that is just more musically sound than EDM. Hard to listen to jazz and then appreciate four on the floor bro dance music, but I digress.

I'm ready to get off of my high horse and expand my listening. I've even started listening to some rap again (the good stuff, not club going up on a Tuesday) and I think I'm ready to find some good electronic music. It's actually quite cool what you can make with a computer. Post some songs if you feel so inclined. I'm not looking for something specific, just something that is musically interesting, not meant for a club. I did go to a friends ballet recital around a month ago and the music that they played was kind of a mix of classical with electronic elements. It was very cool.

    Thanks

I've got a couple of those. They made a couple of different kinds of cartridges. Mine are Nanoloops. I have produced music with them in the past, and have played them live too!

Several have mentioned Boards of Canada. I wholeheartedly agree. Tycho is also pretty cool, but he (Scott Hansen) gets slagged on at times for for being the "pop" version of BoC. I dig 'em both.

After Amon Tobin, Squarepusher was my next go to. After that Aphex Twin.
