In what I percieve to be TGP fashion, here's a seperate splinter thread for those of us with a loose mess of boxes in front of the amp. I'm curious to see if there's any horror stories out there :)

lava curly -> Foxrox Octron II -> area 51 wah guts -> Microvibe -> Maxon AD999

Well I technically have a board but the pathetic thing is it's my daughters oversized doll crib....

Hi,
This is my boardless pedal board.

Not the tidiest set-up, but functional. And I really like the tone I get. My main grouse is having to spend close to 15-20 minutes hooking everything up, inclusive of taking the pedals out of boxes. That's despite the fact that I don't have enough cables at present to make all the connections I want to.

I'm restricted to carrying two or three pedals when I go to gigs because I don't have a board and case to house all of this. Hoping to build a pedal board of my own in the next two or three months, because most of the stock pedal boards don't suit my rig for one reason or another.

Probably make it out of polycarbonate sheets to keep the weight down and get a custom made plastic suitcase made to hold it all. I'm thinking of a two tier ramp design, with some pedals underneath the ramp and a few underneath.

I'll post pics in the "pedalboard" thread whenever I get it done! Peace. :wave

You're right, Markom89.... Boards help keep things tidy and make setting up really easy when you have a lot of pedals. But for guys like Shiny_Beast and myself (till not so long ago), not having a board didn't mean anything because we didn't have too many pedals to hook up.

Besides, from a certain perspective, having a board is useless, because it isn't going to add anything to your tone.

I'm glad you have finally found order in all of the chaos of your pedals, oh "king of the boardless ****."

Haha... here's my big dirty board... it's just for fun around the house, since I don't need any of it (besides the Tuner) when I play out.

Once I get some Fuzz and a Compressor, I think I'll get an actual board this year... then I can easily bring the whole lot of 'em back and forth from the house to my apartment.
