This is my home-made EVH guitar. Built with Warmoth parts for about $1000. Plays great and is my new favorite guitar....will build guitars instead of buy them from here on out! This has an Alder Ernie Ball shaped body, a AAA birdseye maple neck and fretboard with abolone dots, an original Floyd Rose Tremolo, and a Mark Tremonti PRS treble PU(has lots of low end and output with a slight roll off of highs and a mid dip...my favorite pickup ever!) Actually ordered wrong and have schaller locking tuners too! But this makes string changes fast as hell. I know if I bought an Ernie Ball EVH the paint job work look pro...but who gives a ****? Eddie certainly doesnt.....heard in an interview that he doesnt use cases unless on tour...he just throws them in his trunk! I'm not doing that cause I cant afford to break em...but you get my point...guitar are meant to be played.

Very nice guitarnyc! How much did the replica run you?

Thanks tremonti....it was under 25k :D

The parts were $950 and the labor wasn't much more....I wanted my friend to make one for me for under $1000 and he said he could do it....I couldn't give him just $50 for labor so it was a little over $1000 but not much

Swamp Ash body...Birdseye neck and board....Real Floyd with D-Tuna...Seymour Duncan Custom Shop EVH

I told him he could make a killing off making these for people but he said no price would make him want to make another one...matching someone's "mistake" was a huge hassle even for a HUGE EVH fan

This is what I'm working on.

What looks like Strat pickups are just empty pickup covers to fill the space.

I'm not going to do EVH graphics, and probably won't install a Floyd, but I kind of owe the concept to Eddie's Frankenstein. I'm just using parts I already have, and most of them are parts I've used on other guitars. So far, this one's a freebie for me, but I might upgrade the pickup and maybe add a roller nut.

I haven't gotten around to doing the wiring yet.

Pretty darn accurate replica (except for the bridge pup) of Ed's Frankenstrat in 83...

Why is eddie selling them? Weird? Not like $6k is a lot to him. Hopefully it is to pay for Wolfgang's weight watcher meals..ha/ha! Wish Michael Anthony were with them on tour and Wolfgang just played on a few songs as a gimmack

Seems a bit odd to me too, but the guy seems to have surprisingly good business senses. He somehow knows how to make money, and market his name and always has.

But is it Eddie selling them, or does he have "his people" do it?

Some of the "Eddie played" Charvels do look sweet though...nice variations of the stripe and color pattern.

Sweet guitars, gents.

Man, not to jack your thread but has anyone tried to sell anything non EVH licensed on the bay lately?

I've got a Mean Street guitar I've tried to sell over there a couple of times and the Van Halen police have pounced in less than an hour after the auction started. This is with no mention of EVH in the auction either.

It's crazy. I mean, I'm not trying to make any cash off of Ed or his guitar. I'm just looking to get out of it what I put in so I can buy yet another guitar.

[/end rant]

Anyway, I didn't paint it up or anything, but I love my Mean Street VH1 clone!

First up is my meanstreat 5150 replica. The guitar is extremely accurate.

Next up is a one off design I came up with being a fan of Ed's shark guitar I came up with this.
