I haven't seen a thread like this... sorry if it's been done.

I'm in love with the Gibson faded finishes. Fancy, shiny guitars with snazzy tops are awesome looking but they're just not my style. I've had a couple - not Gibsons, Carvins with fancy tops - and they just weren't for me.

When I set out to get my 1st Les Paul I fell in love with a 60's Tribute. I've added 2 more fadeds since.

Let's see pics of all the Faded Gibsons out there and list any upgrades you've done.

I'm thinking of changing some things on my new Studio Faded. I might change to creme plastics and add gold speed knobs. I also might go for an RS wiring kit.

    Let's see yours!

Wow, that Special is really awesome looking. I kind of think that if you gave your Cherry Faded the same cream/white treatment, it would give it a much better look. The white/cream pickup mounts really soften the look and adds a nice artsy quality to the guitar. I am seriously amazed by how cool it looks.

Thanks! I'm 99% sure I'm going to do that... just trying to decide whether to go for gold speed knobs or gold top hats. Then I'll click 'place order' lol

Keep the pics coming guys, lookin' great so far! I want a V now!

This was more of an insurance pic, but this is the only Faded I've had:

This is the Les Paul Studio Faded with Maple Top that was out a few years ago. They originally had black trim, which I replaced with cream and gold knobs.

saw this recently at my local gc... it was mint and
priced fairly. had a nice neck, low action... didn't
even plug it in. swapped the pickups (has the
circuit board so I had to splice) sounds great,
although haven't ruled out, pulling the board
and replacing with pots and a new three way...
    can't put it down.

I'm a big fan of the Hamer special/artist mahogany
and would have liked them to offer a budget satin
finished version like this... although, I don't think they
were geared for the low end.

Excellent! The cream and gold give it the perfect accent. I think black would have been too stark of a contrast. Well done! :beer

    Thanks!

You know, I sold that to fund a used Hamer Artist, while a fabulous guitar, didn't end up doing it for me, and I really, really miss that LP. BTW, I put Alnico IV Classic Toneriders in it also. Oh well, ............
