I love my little sleeper amps. Makes people stop and ask questions because it looks like a heater. Please post what you have and if you have a youtube you can show that would be great.

Nice vid!

My go-to amp for impromptu blues jams is a VHT (Fryette) Super 30. EL84 based 1x12 combo, light, portable, and sounds frakking fantastic. Not a lot of people seem to know about these. They're not cheap, but you can find deals on em used, and they end up being cheaper than a lot of other more well known boutique amps in the same vein.

Great vid. What are you playing through there guitar and pedal wise?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I have these two amps in the photo but the video was done by someone else. Here's what he says about his rig:

"Watkins Custom 15 "Controlled Power Amplifier". Prompted by an old picture of the rolling stones recording in a studio with one of these amongst the arsenal, I thought I'd record it ....., 1 x ez81, 3 x ecc83, 2 x el84, ( a mullard and some other cheap one) and a single 10 inch elac alnico speaker. This thing has 4 inputs, 2 for mic, it has a footswitch for the tremelo which uses two of the ecc83s....it has 4 detachable legs which I think may be original as I've see exactly the same legs on ebay which were taken from a WEM dominator....Legs are currently detached....

The pedal I switch on and off for more boost is my homemade TS808."

Cool thanks. It looks like a pretty funky almost Yamaha SG type guitar. Does not look like a Gibson.

My sleeper is my VOX Cambridge Reverb Tube 1964. I just put a Weber Blue Pup into it and is sounds so nice. The reverb is very lush and the Trem is very cool. I am not sure if the speaker is even broken in yet. It allows the amp to have great chime and break up solidly without sounding too loose and muddy.

Phil Jones Super Cub. Great, light weight amp. Intended for acoustics and archtops, but on the fly, I can plug in anything. Super durable, as well.

That Watkins sounds the best, wish i knew where to get 1

Guitarmaniacs in Tacoma Washington has a head version of it. He has a few different Watkins and other british tube amps. That's where I bought the gold one.
