What manufacturer makes pots with a code of 5838914 ?
-I can't find any information on this.

    Thanks.

That's an odd one. I don't have my lists with me, but it sounds reminiscent of some part numbers I've found found on some old IRC pots found on 40's early 50's Gibsons. If it's from one of those, that wouldn't be the EIA code, and it wouldn't be from the 14th week of '89. Some of these will have the year and week in a three digit code after the pot value. Check for the IRC logo and see if it has another set of numbers on it.

Anyway, I'll check the lists and get back with you.

Nevermind, it doesn't line up with any of the IRC part numbers I've recorded. It does look familiar to me, but I could be thinking of a phone number for all I know. Anyway, what instrument or amp does it come from?

It comes from a sweet switch replacement on a PRS.

RWS - Have you contacted Shawn at PRS about it yet? He may know.
