I have 5-7 pedals a wah and volume pedal but no pedal board
I was thinking of a power supply first before gettng a board.
    Does this seem odd.

Get a piece of wood and a One Spot, get a board when you can, then a power supply. Unless you're having issues with current power method.

You should definitely think power first, in the sense that you should factor in the size and physical placement of the power supply you'll be using, before settling on a pedalboard. But I wouldn't recommend running around with 5-7 pedals and a loose power supply - hooking it all up at a gig, and packing it up afterwards, will be a major hassle. So get a suitable board as soon as you can - even if it's just a plain bit of plywood for now.

This assumes you will be moving your stuff around, of course. If they are to stay in one place, having a board becomes far less important.

^ yep he sums it up, get a PSU that fits your needs, and a piece of plywood till you can find/afford the pedalboard that works best for your needs.

Get a good isolated power supply first.

I buy the PSU last, so I know what PSU I need.

Why? I thought a DC10 is enough for me, but it turned out not enough and I had to get the Ciokolate.

Thats why I'm starting with a Schizo, should still be able to power the 11 pedals I have planned for my current board, and once I upgrade to a bigger board, I can just get another, or a big John, or AC rider, or even an adam, and link them all together. yea, I have plans to have around 20 devices requiring power on my hopefully "final" board and figured out that a Schizo and a Big John will be enough...... With a couple of daisy chains for the low current pedals.

I already had the pedals, but I bought the T-Rex FuelTank Chameleon power supply first before building my actual board.

Try a 1spot. I think that, since the cost and size of a power supply with like fueltank or power lab, you should see first if a 1spot does the job for you!

my pedal board got big enough i had to make a spreadsheet to sort out the mAs. then picked a power supply, and a board big enough with some room to grow.
