What's the best way to power a Klon, outside of a pedal board? I have the correct cable for use with a pedal board, but I"d like to use it by itself. Has anyone spliced the correct end to say a Boss adaptor? Or just used a battery? Thanks. Steve

I try to always power an OD\Distortion and especially a Fuzz with a non-alkaline battery. It truly sounds better to my ears.

The instructions that come with the Klon are unnecessarily hard to figure out. If you have the Dunlop Power Brick, it comes with three kinds of cables, 9v barrel, 9v pin, and 18v barrel. the 9v pin cable will work just fine and be the correct polarity.

go buy a multimeter if you don't have one already and measure the DC voltage in the cable before plugging it into your KLON. If the polarity is wrong and you're sending the + voltage down the wrong part, you'll know it right away (pedal won't work). I've done it accidentally a few times and never damaged it.

90% of the pedals in the world use the DOD/BOSS power supply with the barrel plug, Neg. pin. The Klon is part of the 10% that uses + Pin.

Just buy the One Spot male end which adapts to a Boss style barrel power cable. I use a Pedal Power II and this adpater works great and cost about $3.

Is it the one that's supposed to work with older EHX stuff? C35 or sumthin'?
I got one when I thought I was buying a Muff soon...still unpacked...no Big Muff or Klon for that matter in sight yet...

if bye itself, just a new battery.

Otherwise, my pedalpower with the correct cord works fine.
