just bought an empress reverb and I have a voodoo labs PP2+, can I use the courtesy outlet with the power adapter it comes with? or are any of the regular ports capable of powering it? I've heard that it doesn't actually require 300 mA

I've had varying results. It can 'brown out' a little if power is too low. Generally it's pretty stable but I'd be keeping it at the 300mA if possible.

Yes you can use the courtesy outlet on the PP2+ or you can buy a current doubler adapter (from VL directly or from Sweetwater), and use outlets 4&5 or 6&7 together to get 350ma.
