as noted above... looking for a good portable practice amp with a good line-in and phone out for late night practice...

our bassist is moving and will have limited practice facilities for a couple of years, and we are thinking about getting him a decent bedroom rig as a gift...

    thoughts?

My Ampeg BA-112 has both. Works fine for late night practice.

+1 on the Ampeg. Has a phono input to jam along. It will go surprisingly loud for small gigs as well. Plus, it's light to carry around. Mine doubles as an extension cabinet for my SuperChamp XD on guitar. Fills it out nicely.

If you are on a budget, the Behringer Thunderbird is about $100 and is a lightweight ported combo with RCA inputs, headphone jack and good tone controls.

Another very satisfied Ampeg BA112 owner here. The bonus is, it actually sounds like a good bass amp.
