I once saw Tom Waits... he was the opening act for a Frank Zappa show. Now that was some "super bizarro" combination.

My band used to cover this tune. Our bassist is this 6ft tall Mr Clean looking dude, and we had him sing the vocals. I loved playing it.

There's certainly value in having enough stock of a transistor to sort for quality and match them well.

Only PxE pedal I ever had was the Yardbox and it was awful.

I can't speak for the rest of them, but I'd say they are just a bunch of hype right now. I remember back then a lot of people not digging their pedals that much and going with Zvex or Voodoo etc, can't understand why they would suddenly be worth more than retail

If this has anything to do with the musictoyz owner then I want nothing to do with it. That guy is a nightmare to deal with and TGP is full of threads that prove it.

Yeah, doesn't appear they know Jack (Pun intended :Devil), nor is he probably even involved ~ Didn't he retire and close the company for good?

Is Jack really involved in building these or did he just give his OK to use the name?

I think it is legit, but not sure. FWIW, I don't think I've ever seen a pedal builder's website setup with a proper certificate and all. In general, the worse the web site, the better the pedals!

FYI ----: HTTPS means nothing as far as a company being legitimate.

    1. verify the SSL cert to make sure it proves and provides ownership
    2. never buy from a suspected site if it does not have a valid (or missing) telephone number or address. if a telephone number exists, call it to verify before buying.
    3. Do a whois on the domain and see if it shows the owner (may or may not but in the case it does)

That's a good price on the Yardbox. I might have to get in on the pre-order.

I'm hoping that the Overdriver will be back too. That one has been on my radar for a while.

Haha MusicToyz? Pass forever. Do your research before buying, folks...

    Wot? Where?
    Thanks, Scott, appreciate the info.

Definitely seems more like Musictoyz than Jack.

Since it's the MusicToyz guy the strange changes from us to they sorta makes sense. He probably knows that the farther he, personally, stays from the company the better off it will be. So, just for arguments sake, let's say that he convinced Jack to let him use the IP (the circuit designs and the names/cosmetics), and lets say he had someone competent do up the PCB designs (or did Jack always use PCBs and he just has to get someone to build them), what we'll actually have is an "authorized clone". Are people up for a $400 cloned Experience pedal?

It’s too bad that couldn’t be handled differently. Prescription Electronics is one of the forefathers of the boutique pedal market. And now the fact the posts have been banned, it obviously caused quite a few people to distrust their reboot (which hurts them).

    This is their announcement:
    “PRESCRIPTION ELECTRONICS IS BACK
Jack, Teddy and David have agreed to re‐launch Prescription Electronics, Inc. to manufacture and sell the Company’s original renowned line of hand‐built effects pedals after nearly a decade of dormancy. The Company’s goal is to re‐issue the original pedals, using the same thru‐hole (not surface mount) components, and deliver Prescription’s unique tone, functionality and vibe in an array of colorful die cast enclosures for guitar and bass players of all genres. The first products available will be The Yardbox, C.O.B., Experience, followed by the RX Overdriver and Vibe Unit. The pedals can be pre‐ordered now from the Prescription Electronics online store www.prescriptionpedals.com”

I’ve owned two experience pedals when they came out in the 90’s.
Capable of really cool effects, particularly the backward masking swell thing. But they are really finicky and take a lot of hands on time to learn.

What do you mean "handled differently"? If they can't follow the rules, what different treatment do they deserve? If it impacts people's trust of their reboot, why is that not their fault?
