There's a guy local trying to sell a '59 Fender Tweed Deluxe. The amp is worn and beat, but it is 100% original except for a 3 prong cord. The amp sounds great. I have a vintage guide that places it at $3,500-$4,000 in excellent shape, but it's nowhere near excellent condition, plus the Vinatge guide is from 2008 before the market went soft. What would you guys say is a fair price for this amp?

    Thanks!

somewhere around 2 G's for a private sale if it's beat but original. Collectors don't want beat. If it does sound great (they vary) it's worth it IMO.

For what it's worth, right now I'm playing my 54, and it's heaven. Well worth 2k and beyond.

    I'd say $2,500 to $2,800.

Despite what some people want to believe, these amps just aren't getting the money they used to. I would say $2000 is even a bit high. If it is beat, but all original (speaker & transformers), $1500-$1800 would be a good price. If it is in good shape, $2000-$2500.

There are a lot of people still asking $3000-$7500 for these amps, but none of them are selling. Asking price is a lot different than selling price.
