Hey folks-
I have a PRS MEII in really nice shape, Faded Blue Jean, 5708 pups. Top, neck and inlays are perfect. Back has one minor surface scuff, but otherwise excellent condition.

I am thinking about a trade for an ME I I saw yesterday. Also in really good shape, a couple of minor nicks / indents on the top, small pencil tip sized, and some normal worming on the back, also pretty minor.

Wanted to get some thoughts from the PSReratti here on relative trade values?

TIA

All things considered the ME I is worth more if in the same condition, but some might prefer the gloss finish of the ME II. Both killer guitars.

ME I is Brazilian. They command a significant premium over the ME II. How much? I would say around $1000. YMMV.

Thanks Wedge, guess I have to post a pic to get the PRS crowd interested in replying.......

Nice looking Eagle. Being a IRW neck instead of Brazilian will command less bucks but that is still a desirable guitar, expcially in that color and top. NICE

I bought the I and kept the II. Traded in a couple of strats in the process. I'll try and post some pictures tomorrow.

The BRW premium is about $1,000-$1,500 between a ME1 and ME2.

That said, I have both a ME1 and a (pre-25th Anniversary) ME2. Both are excellent guitars. BRW aside, I think the ME2 is every bit as good a guitar as the ME1. Many would argue that the ME2's 57/08 pickups are "better" than the ME1's RP pickups.

ME2 has a glossy finish while the ME1 has a satin finish, by the way. I like them both but some have a preference one way on the other.
