Anyone know what an old set of brownbased Tung-Sol 5881's go for?

I found a set in the back of a vintage shop here in town. Being good friends with the owner, I helped her set the shop up for an event and she tossed em to me and a handful of old RCA 12AX7's.

In their boxes? Do they work? How do they test?

I just found them yesterday and I've got nothing laying around to run em in.

They're not worth anything. Neither are the RCAs. Just give 'em to me and I'll get rid of them for you. ;)

If they are an electronically matched pair they could bring anywhere from $75.-$125.

Actually, they don't have to be matched, just in the ballpark. Yeah, $100 sounds about right. You could do a google search and see what turns up. The 12AX7s are a nice score, too! You've got just the right tubes for a Tweed Fender.
