I think I got my 74' for around 1400. And my friend got his reissue for a little under that. So as long as you found one in good condition, I'd say that's a pretty good deal

Reamp it and enjoy the real Marshall tones .
Amp wattage won't matter when you do this , just hit the sweet spot and set the overall volume to your taste.
Problem solved and you get fat juicy tones with the big iron and tubes verses the small thin wanna be amps.
