Holy moly, that is great news. I am tempted to buy one and A/B it with my old white face rat. That has been my go to dirt pedal for 18 years.
I am also missing the original battery cover. I wonder if the new pedal will have the same enclosure.
I guess they finally got the hint...new Rats don't cut it and with all the clones out there today they have to know that there is a market for it!
I'll be getting one (I'm down to only 1 old Rat now so it's abotu time to get another one or 2!).
So that's this rat? I hate this first aqua puss RI now this. I needs more cash.
Thats the one!
That's my favorite rat... I'm not spending a dime until it comes out. Unless the Aqua Puss MkII has the NOS panasonic chips
Excellent. I'm in as long as it's not ridiculously expensive.
I think if you contact ProCo, they can sort you out. They are pretty good that way.
What's the difference between the old one and the new ones? I used to own an original back in the day.
That, and components. Capacitors, resistors, ICs (the notorious LM308), etc. have been changed over time due to availability. Anytime any of those things change, the sound of the pedal changes.
That being said, man I want one....
Thanks for explaining that in depth.
Do the Keeley-modded ones have the 85' sound? I thought one of Keeley's three toggle settings was to get the original small-box Rat sound.
I'll stick with my 83' big box Rat.
This looks pretty sweet but how much are they and how will they compare to the original?
At most I'll say less than 200$ due to how the current pedals are price. But they are making this a limited run... so that could boost up the price. Epically if they decide to hand wire them. It could turn out like the Ibanez Ts808Hw and cost 350 bucks..
But just wait for pricing after NAMM everything will be explained.
Oh okay. Thanks, how much are the orignals?
This is fantastic news. I've got two '85 whiteface Rats and have always worried what I'd do if something happened to them since I rely on them so much. Nothing is better than Rat on Rat action.
