Howdy fellow gear nerds. I recently went through the experience of choosing a loop switching pedal to streamline my effects set up. It took a lot of research to find the right solution for me, as there are a ton of products out there and they all have different feature sets and price ranges. I decided to compile all the data into a chart that could help someone else who is trying to find the right solution for their board. I had to dig through a lot of manuals and product pages to put this together, so there may be some slight inaccuracies, so if anyone owns one of these units and sees something that is incorrect on the chart, please let me know and I will update it.

The main thing I was looking for myself was total number of loops, whether you could have some in the amps EFX loop and some in the front, Midi implementation, and amp channel switching. For what it's worth, I ended up going with the Musicomlabs EFX Lite 62M and have been delighted with it. It's a great unit and is very small for something with it's capabilities, as well as dead quiet and transparent. I do wish I had more presets per bank, but with the ability to use external momentary switches for bank up and down, I am able to get what I need out of it, and it's a fair tradeoff for the small footprint.

Anyway, hope this helps some people out

    Nice
Thanks for the work. I would add the number of CC messages per patch also.

I'm in the market for one at the moment and this helps. Although the info on the es5 seems a bit off? I'm sure it can transmit multiple midi messages the same as the es8

Great work. Ability to name presets and create set lists is important to a lot of people. Would be nice to add that info to your chart.

If you can confirm, I'd be glad to update it. In the manual under midi Program change it only says "
Specifies whether a program change is transmitted when you
    switch patches."

    ES-8 actually has 9 Loops.

VL PX-8 does indeed Tx a single program change with each preset (1-3).

I believe the G2 has a new update that allows you to change effects order.

Obviously for those needing midi switching/change effects order this isn't an option, but I can vouch for the rock solid build quality and ease of use of the Carl Martin Octaswitch line.

To me the size is just as important as the features.

With the ES-8 if I have the DD-500 in the MIDI connection can I assign it to footswitches with other pedals?

Great work on the chart! Would definitely add that Song and SetList mode are BIG features on the EFX MKIV and 62M. Size and SetList mode was what pushed me to EFX MKIV over Boss ES8.

SetList mode is invaluable now to me, could not be without it!

    Nice work!

The DPC8EZ now allows the insert point to be 'moved', so loops in front is no longer limited to 4 or 8, and loops in fx loop is no longer limited to 0 or 4.

Edited to add that, with the earlier firmware at least, Stereo Link
mode puts loops 1-4 in parallel with loops 5-8 for use in stereo signal paths.

I'm not sure if Stereo Link is available in the latest firmware that makes the insert point movable???

Also, would be great to see the DPC5 on there too.

Looks great, but to me length and width matter, not just volume. Also sometimes height.

Thanks for the update. I left the DCP5 off because it shows discontinued on Disaster area's website :(

Thanks for the update. Can you clarify? do you mean banks? according to the manual it had 25 banks of 5 presets per bank, plus a global preset for 126 total

Noted, I decided on volume since I wanted the chart to fit on one page.
