Anyone seen or played the new PRS Johnny Hiland model?

I'm curious to try one out and see what they are going for.

I'm curious about these too. The 2006 price list has it at $3000, with the only option being a 10 top. So you should be able to get a non-10 for $1950 or so.

I've seen Hiland play a couple of times back when he was burning up Broadway in Nashville. He always had a tele and he'll always be a tele player in my book.

I recently got introduced to Johnny at Glaser Instruments. He had a prototype of the PRS and was all excited about it, how they listened to his input, even down to the distance from the G-string behind the nut to the headstock. You press down all the way, and get an in-tune whole step bend. Gotta say, that's cool.

I thought it was gonna be a glorified SAS..........but your saying it has a maple Top? Is it just a glorified CE? The lack of info on this guitar is amazing and just leads me to have to speculate. PRS's PR dept needs to start getting on the ball.............[IMG]

    Pretty guitar.

I honestly don't understand what all the hype is about on Hiland, he's a good player, but there's (another cliche) a thousand guys out there doing the same stuff every night.

I am amazed at how fat his hands are. How do his fingers even fit between frets? Seems like a sweet guy and all, but dude, he is HUGE. I bet he drops dead just from being super fat. I bet he hasn't seen his special purpose in years... oh man nevermind. Flame suit on.

Pretty insensitive comment being that the guy is legally blind. :NUTS

You try playing the guitar with sausages for fingers. He has a few clips at the visual sound site I checked em out last night. They are pretty awesome! I bet it is tough to play slide on that prs without the notes fretting, but Johnny handles it well. NICE!!! Does this guy do the danny gatton everything music deal or is there one style he plays?

That's the first time I've ever listen to him play. Nice guitar but I wasn't very impressed with the tone.

The sausage finger thing are not what I was objecting to. Its the Being so fat he is gonna die comment.........but I've read a few other comments from 69 on a few other threads and am convinced he will not be with us for too much longer.

No 69? Forshadowing? come on guys I was just stating an obvious fact, the guy is big, and as a health care professional (side job, paramedic) he is at a very high risk. When you shove a double cheese burger in your mouth several times a day, you are asking for it. I meant no harm, I just care about people being in good health. I think its sad for him to be that big, he really needs to do something or we might have another tragedy waiting to happen. Old school stop haten bro, "don't hate the player, just the game"
Peace out and eatin a peach.
