I had a Hollowbody II Artist Piezo and the amped acoustic sound was to die for. I watched the P22 intro videos and it sounds like they've successfully ported it over to the solidbody, and they got smart and made it available with ALL the options.
My poor bleedin' wallet...gotta get me one...

    Wow that really sounds great!

I don't think I have ever heard an electric get that close to an acoustic.

    But yikes!

    $3,116?

The price is easier to swallow when you realize you're buying TWO outstanding guitars.

$3100 seems plenty reasonable to me? Compare to a CS Fender or Gibson that is hundreds to 1000s less for a guitar with arguably better quality with unbeaten versatility. Also its worth mentioning thats just MAP, you can buy the guitar for possibly a good bit less than that.

    Why?

If no one ever did, you wouldn't have a "used" market.

Yea I've been shopping for a HB guitar, and ruled out a PRS because I was digging the LP tone, and all a little more. This however could be a game changer.

I spent the day last week with J.Hayes, PRS's Product Specialist while he was here in Seattle. He brought the P22 that he's been playing (hiding it in his gigbag hoping Paul won't ask for it back) and I got a chance to put it thru it's paces. I will be honest telling you that while good, the PRS piezo guitars never really gave you that acoustic thump and close your eyes and swear it was a high dollar acoustic thing. The P22 with the electronics mod that they pulled off was outstanding. I plugged the piezo side into a Roland acoustic amp and the magnetic side into a Rivera combo. The blending can take from a REALISTIC Jazzbox to one of the best acoustics you can imagine.I didn't even go to anywhere near an overdriven tone. My jaw dropped listening to J. play it as well. I now know why it was harder to talk with J. @ NAMM than just about anyone else there from PRS.
