l'm looking at this PRS. It's legit and in overall good shape except for the headstock logo being partially missing. ls this something that could be fixed? I don't even know how they apply these (over or under the clear coat). Would PRS be willing or able to supply a replacement logo?

It happened to a couple of mine. It's a sticker and if you use a cleaner on it, it will lift. It sits on top of the clear... At least the older ones did.

PRS PTC will do a complete headstock refin with a brand new decal for $250. I had to have it done to a ltd SC245, looked good as new.

I'd be more concerned about repairing the nut first.

I am sorry for off topic

But are you sure this PRS is legit? I found few things doesn't add up

    1. Headstock size out of proportion (but probably due to photo shooting angle)
    2. The logo font a bit too small
    3. It doesn't have PRS proprietary nut.

    I agrees.

That is not a real PRS sticker to begin with, I'd worry about that's a fake, look at the nut difference.

Look where the copyright symbol is compare to this.

Then look at the size of the truss rod cover and where it ups up over and above the E tuners, compare to mine. That is a fake. 100%. No doubt about it.

He was the one who questioned it's legitimacy in the first place. He's referring to his comment about your Stripped 58 when he says "Again, off topic."

Oh my apologies, I get it now.

I mistaken him for the OP there, should not be typing whilst walking!

The logo is correct. PRS have used two different logos - one small signature, one large. I forget which came first but my McCarty from 2007 has the small one. Yours has the large one. The one in the OP is consistent in size and in terms of the Registered trademark icon with the small one.

But you're right about the truss rod cover. Definitely not right.

then we can let the logos go, can even let the nut go, you can change that but you can't ignore the truss rod cover though...

Yup still looks too small compared to even the smaller logo's. Could be a refin with a reproduction sticker maybe? Would like to see some pics of the rest of the guitar.

The headstock looks legit to me. Heres my 95 Mccarty headstock, looks the same as the OP

To the OP's question, yes you can send to PRS and they will fix. But Id just leave it. Ive seen several of these over the years.

But it's not the same. Look at the R from 'Reid' and compare the distance between the top of the R and the A string tuner. Yours is much closer to it. The OP sticker looks much smaller (or the headstock is bigger giving the illusion of the sticker being smaller). Either way, it doesn't look quite right.
