I recently bought in the US this guitar for a friend, a 10 top birds singlecut. I´m more into strat like guitars, so i was not very interested on it. Kept it for him and an hour before he came for it i gave her a try...
Buddy that guitar sounded like a cathedral´s bell...it was sweet, deep...the pickups had a very low output, whic was great for it, i hate ultra high gain pups on Gibson-ish guitars.
It was heavier than a, say R9, but still had a nice weight.
I though if i´d buy a Les Paul-like guitar again it would be a 58 or 59, but i´m not so sure now.
That guitar was nothing less than great. I had a McCarty...this thing made it sound like an Epiphone, killed it in any way (IMO, of course) ;)

I am Les Paul man myself, but after buying a Prs singlecut, I couldn't agree more. They have something very cool about them.
Different than a Les paul, but mine sustains like no Les paul or any guitar I have ever had.( and I have and have had quite a few).

Low output pickups that sustain till tomorrow. How cool is that?
I'm afraid to change anything on this guitar.(although I would like to put wcr pups in), I won't as I don't want to change a thing.

By the way, I did put on the tones pros studs, but noticed no difference. That's ok, I just wanted to keep my tailpiece locked in place when I changed strings.

Never hearing or playing a 59' Paul, I have to believe this sound is as close at is gets.

Yeah, seems you like them Dr.:D
Paintguy, yes, it was great how long it sustained with so low gain humbuckers. And adding an overdrive to it in a gain channel was kind of tone Nirvana.

The one i talk about had a fixed wraparound bridge, sounded very Les Paulish.

    thanks paintguy,

the studio is from brother and amp guru CHI. I have to thank him again.

I have a few rare ones. Hey I'm just renting them, some stay longer, some go on to better homes.

Why are you jealous, nothing to be jealous about bro, I'm sure you have stuff I want too!!

thats the thing bout guitars, just when you think you got the ultimate, another comes along.

I recently bought a PRS SCT as a back up for my Custom 22 which I use in my hard rock band. It's so good it's my #1 now, awesome tone and a great neck. Great pickups even though they pick up any flaws in your technique it works you work harder but it pays off.
Mine's got a kinda vintage vibe to it ......
