I don't eat this stuff, but I know some of you do.

Burger King wants people to download its app. So it's sending them to McDonald's for access to a one-cent Whopper.

Here's how it works: If you're within 600-feet of a McDonald's you can unlock a deal for a penny Whopper using the Burger King app. The app then offers directions to a nearby participating Burger King, where you can pick up the burger. The company announced the deal on Tuesday. It runs through December 12, and customers can only access it once.

Interesting...in our town BK is right across the street from McD. You could use the app while in the BK drive through.

And not that it means much (though it probably does based on the concept of this promo) the McD drive through is always around the building and the BK drive through may have a car or two in it but is often empty...

    Why 600 feet? Why not 400 or 800 or 100 or 1000?

I remember living in Hollywood LA 1994 - 1996 and studying at MI. We had BK, McD, In N Out and Carl's Jr all within walking distance. Taco Bell and KFC, Fatburger, Dennys and Wendys were a litte further away but still you could walk there. Being from Sweden this was like coming to heaven. Getting to the nearest fast food restaurant (McD or BK only) was a 40 min bus/train ride.

Anyhoo. a Whopper Meal was 99 cents at the time which was about 7 or 8x cheaper than in Sweden so you can imagine how many burgers I had those two years. Golly. Sometimes it was breakfast, lunch and dinner plus an evening snack. The people working there must've thought we were a bunch of idiots.

Gotta say, I still think a Whopper is the King of fast food burgers and I eat there at least a couple of times a month.

Never liked the white bun, paper thin patty or excessive ketchup and mayo that essentially make it a burger soup...

Silly promo, can only use once? Why not just offer a free whopper when you download app. All that to save $4 one time.

While you are at McDonalds ordering the 1 cent whopper, go ahead and pick up the small fries and small drink off the dollar menu.

Fast food meal for about 2 fiddy.
    ;)

    This won't last very long.

    Hmmm...

I think I may indulge today. I'll download the app, get my whopper for a penny...then uninstall the app and go buy a pack of cigarettes with my $6 lunch budget.
