Guess these didn't sell to well. Fwiw, the bridge pickup is to close to the bridge. It will be real stingy and thin sounding. Move it toward the neck an inch or more and you have a winner. Then have your tech install a neck pickup

Me, I'd try a .015 paper and oil cap first before carving it up and moving stuff around. I do like the P-90 idea..

I'm interested in the control cavity route; think there's enough space for a tone pot?
PS they're also doing 14% off now, too

The 14% code didn't work for me.

If it had a mahogany body like the orignals i'd buy one and mod it like they did the orignals. I think it was Pat travers that liked modding the melody makers.

    Never liked them.
Paint (if you call it that) is a horrible job and feel, the output jack way too close to the bridge.
I get their idea on them, but the exection left a lot to be desired.

Yikes, those are rough. Prepare to do some work on that sticky neck.

Few of my students had these..

Awful, awful guitars. Paled in comparison to some of the high-end Epiphones I see, and "high-end Epiphone" isn't supposed to be a compliment. Guitar feels cheap, plays cheap and basically gave me the impression it's firewood.

    .02 cents

    Sold out and discontinued.

They're trying to do the same with these that are left.

Call them. They will give you the 14% off. I had to do that with an amp the other day because the code wouldn't work.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're better off spending your money on a Korean import.

Those Gibson MM Limiteds are some of the *******st guitars I've ever held in my hands.

They're impossibly neck-heavy, the frets suck, the hardware alignment is haphazard and sloppy, the paint is basically spray primer, and where the paint stops at the fretboard edges will actually slice your hand.

The paint. Will slice your hand.

    Save your money.

"Customers buy every one on these that we build. We better stop building them and discount all the related models so they will go away." What's the logic here? Are they cannibalizing sales of more profitable models?
    CAUTION: Extreme digression ahead!
Maybe they should just sell these completely unfinished like the Carvin Bolt kit. All hardware uninstalled, packed in poly bags, available with or without the stock pickup included. Peelable mask over the fingerboard, bare sanded wood.
Sell them at Naked Furniture outlets. You won't find a better guitar or my name ain't Nathan Arizona!
That or sell them complete with no finish at all, but use thermally treated poplar and maple throughout to prevent humidity problems. They could even sell it under a different label. Naked Guitar by Gibson.
Or do they still own the Kalamazoo trademark? Make these Kalamazoo models.
Better yet would be for Heritage to sell a line of inexpensive Kalamazoo guitars. Same description. Stripped down feature set and unfinished, thermally treated wood cut from Michigan forests.
