1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

PSA2 : you can get a new real Klon now on eBay, Bill is selling them himself now, not just the ones he is giving away to help someone.

    Not cheap of course...

Ecommerce is demystified and turn-key now. I don't understand why Bill chooses to operate through eBay. I'd love to help the guy out with his marketplace.

I'm unable to find any new Klons on Ebay right now. Do you have a link to his shop or a Klon for sale direct from Bill Finnegan? Thank you.

Interesting. Do tell more. Not sure why he hasn’t been doing this all along. I thought it was a foolish move to take it off the market. The success of the Centura proves the demand is there.

Imagine the deflation of Centaur prices if Bill started making/selling again. Some might be really upset, most would be really stoked.

I think it was a year ago that my local shop was selling a used KTR for $160 and I passed it up.

I bought one of the new production Centaurs a couple months ago. Spoke with him about it. He’s only making them when he has time and will post them on eBay; the price is determined by the auction; which in this case was a bit above the used ones on auction. Didn’t sound like a regular or high production thing.

People have been predicting the deflation of "original" Centaur prices when the next best klone comes out, when the KTR comes out, when the Centura comes out etc etc for years. I would never say the price won't come down because I keep thinking it will. But I don't think it will be because the next new Centaur comes out. Even If Mr Finnegan builds it. Any more than 50s Les Paul prices came down when Gibson reissued the Les Paul. The Centaur is no 50s Les Paul for sure but the forces driving the ultra high prices are similar. The price is not based on utility value.

But folks will eventually tire of it...won't they?

For the same reason 90% of the guys buying from him still use Internet Explorer.

I think the auction format benefits the high price in a supply and demand kind of way ... top dollar at the close of auction. If people are willing to pay, that's what I would do. Yes, it's inflated, but not wrong if people are happy to pay.

I like the disclaimer on the new pedal ...
