Disclosure: I am a beta tester on these IR's. Kevin has decided to release these for FREE to the public for a limited time. I am enthusiastic about these; I've used them live and they are special. I *highly* recommend grabbing these while they are available and checking them out in-depth. Even if you *hate* the Vintage 30 and/or the SM57... you *need* to check this out in your box, DAW or whatever.

From *extensive* work with these, I highly recommend mixing the SM-57 Position 5 with the TC30 Position 1 in a 1:1 ratio. Change up the SM57 position depending on how dark/bright you prefer. Absolutely slams, rings, chimes. No PEQ. No further fancy pants processing. Just sounds/feels *right*.

I grabbed this from another forum:

Hello Everyone,

I have been very hard at work on multiple and varied projects over the last six months. One of these projects has been working on ways to improve and expand the Speaker Cabinets libraries to provide the best sounding product to the widest array of possible tastes and applications. I feel I have succeeded, and would like to see what you think as well.

Some of you may already be familiar with what I do, and others may not. To the uninitiated, what is included here is a small sampling from my 'middle of the road' (in terms of verbosity) package offering, and in this particular case of a Bogner 4x12 cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's. Axe-Fx, Axe-Fx II, convolution reverb wave audio, and commercial Nebula file formats are provided here, and I encourage you all to compare as many of the different platforms as you can. For those working in the DAW, the Nebula implementation here simply cannot be beaten in terms of sound quality, realism, and ease of use with the programmable interface of multiple tone options.

This is a limited time offering, and will expire when all final decisions are made as the full library is released in the near future. If you like what you hear, please consider picking up the commercial version when it is released.

The public beta package can be downloaded from the following address:

http://www.ownhammer.com/free/OwnHammer-Public-Beta.zip

Please feel free to re-post the link wherever you'd like, the more exposure the better, but the files follow the same usage restrictions as the commercial libraries so re-hosting is expressly forbidden. Once the beta period expires and the offering is absorbed into the commercial library, the link and files will cease to exist.

I look forward to lurking through the threads on the various forums where this ends up and hearing any sound clips you may have to post; it helps get an idea for the kinds of musical styles, equipment, and tones most folks are after these days, and is also nice to see the results of all the hard work on display.

Enjoy, and look for more exciting developments to be unveiled in the coming months!

All the best,
Kevin

Thanks. I happened to be working on a demo for my band when I found this. I DL'd it and popped a few of them into the demo. Some of them sound rally clear. Much clearer than I expected from an SM57. The SM57 F-1 sounded particularly good. It's in your face without being harsh or brittle. It really does sound fat(not muffled). They did a good job with these.

Thanks DL'd to try out with the GSP once I take a break from the new amp (modeler) smell of the Kemper.

One thing I noticed, and I don't know if it was intended, but I tried the SM57 and TC30 both in the 5 position (separately) and the SM57 was many magnitudes louder than the TC30. Like...REALLY loud. The TC30 in position 5 was on the same level as old OH impulses and RW recipes.

Welcome to beta testing. ;)

He's looking at it right now. It'll be fixed very soon. You can use aomDSP's "normalize" function to get the volume level and even though if you have that available to use.

Ha ha! Yes. I was hoping (and guessing) it wasn't intentional. I do have the aomDSP tool (which is awesome) so I'll try that.

Thanks, I will try these out today.

I am not a big fan of the V30, but sometimes it is just the right speaker, especially for he Mesa's and Bogners.

Does anybody know what was the difference in the creation process for these compared to the previous ones? Is it due to some sort of post processing (mic preamps, mixers, EQs, ..)?

I have to get these, last time I tried to upload cabs I think I messed up and they got corrupted. Anyone have a cheat sheet for this process on the AxeFX II?

From the Fractal Forum (he has a running thread there):

Off the top of my head (I am very tired, I may have forgotten something) I have the following speakers, plan to sample all of them in as many cabs as I have time to throw them in, and plan on getting more speakers as time goes on:

Celestion Alnico Blue
Celestion G12M-20
Celestion G12H-30
Celestion Classic Lead 80
Celestion G12-65
Celestion G12K-100
Celestion Vintage 30 (Chinese and English versions)
Electro Voice EVM-12L Classic
Jensen P12N
Jensen Jet Alnico Blackbird
Eminence Texas Heat
Scumback M75
Scumback H75
Scumback J75

Getting all the cabs and speakers and permutations sampled is probably a 10-20 year project, especially if it's something I have to do in addition to non-related full time employment (which is the case now).
