This book was released in 2008 but I just recently discovered it.

IMO, it should be required reading for anyone who takes this stuff seriously.

I have done a quick once through and am going to dig in and give it a serious read.

When I bought my Revel F208's a year and a half ago, I started researching the company and found a lot of information that lead me to this book and Sean Olive's blog http://seanolive.blogspot.com/

The folks at Harman/JBL have done some incredible work advancing the art and science.

I got really busy at work the last few years I was there (retired in 2010) and quit keeping up with audio research stuff that was something I had always done. I gave up most everything related to music (including guitar) for a few years because we moved a few times and I didn't have places or gear to play at any reasonable level.

When we finally got settled in a house again, I got a new pair of speakers that just blew me away (Revel Performa3 F208). I started researching everything I could find about them and that led me to Floyd Toole and all the guys at Revel/JBL/Harman (Kevin Voecks, Sean Olive etc).

Read up on the Revel Salon2 (Stereophile reviewed them) and JBL M2 loudspeakers. JBL/Revel has really changed the way loudspeakers are designed and measured.

If you're into home theater, take a look at JBL Synthesis. Lots of info on AVS forums.

I love great loudspeakers! How 'bout this:
