I'm only looking to power 4 pedals.

    Strymon El Capistan
    Strymon Blue Sky
    ZVEX Distortron
    Korg Pitchblack

What would work for my application?

Help us help you. Please list the power supply voltage and current requirement for each pedal.

I would go with Cioks DC5.
You have two 300mA outlets, I think no problem with the Strymon's which draw 250 mA. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Then you have three 100 mA outlets for the Distortron, Pitchblack and a future pedal. ;)

Yes, it should work. Although I'd personally go for the DC5 over the Adam, for three reasons:
    • The extra 100mA output (since you will eventually buy another pedal).
    • The slightly higher capacity of the outputs to power the Strymons (300mA over 250mA) - while Cioks often have spare room built in, having a little extra still helps.
    • The DC5 has a toroidal transformer, which lets you get away with placing the power supply closer to dirt pedals.

I'm very content on the four pedals, I have another larger board. I'm fitting this underneath a pedaltrain mini too.

No. The two Strymons each require 250mA, even though the actual mA is less.

I bought the adam, is there a reason why the dc5 is preferred?

Also I saw you made custom flex cables Jerry, I would love to get four from you after I get the lengths.

Dave, it's probably because the high mA taps are rated higher than the Adam. But in reality, the two Strymons you are powering are both rated under 200mA, so you're fine with the Adam.
