The NY Dolls... part punk, park glam...part everything else....
I always forget how f*cking tight Fugazi were.
When the band all kicks in, gives me chills every time.
They are here in this performance, but as someone who saw them in DC numerous times from their inception up through Repeater, Ian and Guy were usually extremely sloppy, completely out of tune, and entirely too loud for the venue they were playing.
Brendan and Joe were the only “tight” part. They were the backbone and foundation of that band.
The last time I saw them, Ian and Guy spent an inordinate amount of time and effort preaching and b!tching at the audience about one thing or another. Total downers. It’s was like they were ticked off anyone was having fun and enjoying the music. They were the sonic equivalent of a stick up the a$$ at that show. No fun, and not very punk IMO. Stopped seeing them after that.
Circle Jerks were are one of my favorites
Me too! _Group Sex_ is seriously awesome. Don't forget Morris' new-ish band OFF!:
IMO, he still has it.
Holy crap, there's a name I haven't heard in a loooong time.
Keyboards, solos, and wah-wah in a punk band??!! Hell yeah. I love it.
One of the greatest EPs ever recorded on the Crass label IMO ...
Another band that gets forgotten ...
Saw these live back on their debut tour ...
Saw these twice - both times massive fights broke out in the crowd ... handy for the band though when your singer and guitarist are Golden Gloves boxers and your bassist is the nephew of Jack "The Hat" McVitie ...
And no Stranglers yet ? Strictly speaking they pre-dated punk but got pulled into the whole thing ...
Wire still rips it up.
