The guitar is a tele, traditional single single pups, they are only pushing about 20%, I tested each pup by plugging in a cable and testing the end, one was .74K the other .80K they are normally aroung 5-8Kish.

Any ideas? What should I check to trouble shoot?

1. Do they sound ok?
2. Are you testing the right way?
3. Are you reading the meter properly?
4. If in doubt disconnect the leads and just measure each pup, directly.

1. Quality wise they sound OK
2. Yes I am, thanks for asking.
3. Yes
4.The pups are fine, the whole reason I am testing these is because they were only pushing 20% os so in my amp. I had to turn up to 9 to get a audible at home level, and 2 normally is a little to loud.

Take off the control plate and work backward, starting with the jack. Component by component. You will reach a point where readings go back to normal (assuming your pickups are fine as mentioned above), and your issue will be with that component/solder/wire.
