thinking of adding a second marshall in a box to my board. i wanna keep the dlsmk3 in super bass mode on my board and am tossing up between putting an sl drive in super lead or a purple plexi next to it to be used for high gain. i notice alot of peeps seem to dig the purple plexi but is it a high gain or low gain specialist?? cheers.

Take a look at the JHS@ Timmons, Bogner Burnley and La Grange also while your looking.

I think the consensus is that the PP can do high gain quite well, but it really excels when being goosed by another pedal in front of it. I'll defer to those who've had more time with it than I!

I think the PP would be fine for high gain. I used to own the SL, and was not so impressed by it. The Purple Plexi is the best of the MiB pedals that I've tried. The Ramble fx is another good one too, if you want to not narrow down your search...

thnx people - i should of mentioned that my idea of high gain maybe medium for many haha - i'm thinking a pedal for deep purple, not really a pedal for metal but close to it i guess. think also gunners and 80's-90's cock rock type gain. i would probably boost it with my 808 before it and occasionally with sunface if i really want some filth
