Purple! I cannot recall a time when I had such high expectations for a pedal I'd never heard before. This thing is even better than I expected! And it matches my Suhr Modern: I am a big fan of dirt pedals, and when I use them with a clean setup, I almost always turn the gain all the way up on all of them. This Riot is one of the first that I don't need to. It offers an incredible amount of gain, but unlike most dirt boxes, it sounds full and offers a full palate of tones and textures from about 9:00 on the gain dial to all the way up. The "Voice" knob is actually audible and offers three different, useful textures. (I don't yet know what they are; I had to plug this one in right away and skip the manual.) And it's purple If you don't mind incompleteness, slop, and an excessively long trail of silence, here is a clip: http://www.inrerocknroll.com/tunes/PurpleRiot.mp3 The clean tone you hear is what the Riot is running through, slightly below unity volume. And the "Dist" knob is never past about 1:00.
