"I don't like your tone, young man."
Planet Earth: "It ain't always going to be fair, but this is the best planet out there, trust me!"
This isn't about pushing the limits, but i'd like to see less animal abuse and despicable human threads.
We can get that by turning on the TV, smart phone or PC.
Then go to the emporium and buy me another guitar. Problem solved.
I'm sorry, there are no fingers, nor fingertips, in the emporium.
Don't report anything. Ever. Seriously.
Then don't complain about content. Ever. Seriously.
it's member policed and moderator enforced.
Your attitude here does not help the tone of the board.
My attitude was formed as a result of attempting to member police on more than one occasion. Tone has many inputs and mod enforcement of member policing is certainly one of them. I apologize for being brusque, and could have phrased things in a better fashion, but my underlying view remains unchanged nor do I feel it is unwarranted for numerous reasons.
If ones reports aren't being enforced, logic suggests that ones snitch switch might be a little too easily triggered.
I read his post as meaning that he reported a post, but ended up getting dinged himself instead.
Apologies if I'm interpreting that incorrectly, but I thought I'd seen him say something to that effect before.
OK, but then wouldn't that suggest simply that you reported something and also got reported, and you lost?
But how could someone get reported for reporting something, since it's private? Unless someone was in a pissing match with someone else and they reported each other, I suppose.
I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud based on what I thought I read. It's just conjecture, so I'll stop.
ooh i love conjecture. ive never heard of someone getting points for reporting someone, but I've read several times mods telling people to chill out reporting people in the sense that someone posting something you don't like, or from a person you don't like is not a reason to hit the report button.
so i imagine there are some folks who have reported things and were a little annoyed to see the post not removed.
I don’t know. We are both guessing. Maybe he will explain and we’ll both know.
Like I’ve said many times, just cuz it’s reported doesn’t mean the mod staff will agree with the report.
The ‘snitch’ crap is just that. Crap.
Sometimes People get so wrapped up in THEIR interpretation of the rules they get mortaly wounded when staff doesn’t agree.
Hell we don’t always agree with each other’s view so we often discuss it.
I'll see your conjecture, and add my assumption. If you're going to report a post don't get into it with the poster before you do.
