    Just for sh&ts and giggles,
Your best non boutique pedalboard with no more than 5 pedals. It doesn't matter what amp or guitar. I do consider voodoo lab and fulltone boutique. Also, what kind of Music do you play?
    Mine would be:

    535Q wah
    TS9
    DS-1
    CE-2
    DD-20

Great thread by the way -- it's made me re-think my pedal board setup and pedal choices.

You can mod if you want but consider that if you are on the road and something goes down, you want to be able to just grab one off the shelf at you local ma/pa music store.
Also list the kind of music you play.

OK, so here it is with a slight revision and the type of music I play:

    Crybaby with true bypass mod
    TS9
    Boss TR-2
    Dano DJ-15 Chicken Salad
    Boss DD-3

    Types of music:
Band 1: original music, moderate rock, sort of Fleetwood Mac meets The Wallflowers

Band 2: original music, light rock, Jack Johnson meets the Beatles, plus some '70's and '80's light rock covers

Band 3: very modern P&W, musical influences range from U2 on the light side to Creed on the heavy side.

    DD-5

I figured I'd keep it to 5 like everyone else has. Although, it's really not that hard for me because the closest to boutique my board gets is EHX and DOD (only b/c you can't really get DOD anywhere). I really like the non-boutique stuff, and it's much more simple. But I know the day will come...

Anyway, I play various rock...but really anything as I still haven't settled on "my" style yet.

    Vox V847 (which I'd mod with a TB) and a DD-3

IF I run effects I run a Budda Wah and DD-3 as part of the chain.

    Easy, already using it!!!:

Let's play 'spot da booteek pedal'....
    this could take a while:BEER

I use this one for almost everything.
The little Behringer mixer isn't mine, it's the keyboard players.
Add a GR20 and a couple more magicstomps and you have my full set up.

Edit: oops, just read the 5 pedal thing. did not compute.

I have two set-ups - one is ~low-brow boutique (cost, not quality); the other is mostly Boss. I use the second with the pedals running batteries and where the stage is too small for my pedal board or the load-in is a PITA.

    Tuner: TU-2
    Comp: CS-2
OD: OD-3, modded BD-2, modded SD-1 (both my recipe), TS808RI
Tremelo: modded TR-2 (sounds like the newer ones don't need it)
    Delay: DM-2 or DM-3

With the "can't replace it easily if it breaks down on the road" caveat, I'd cut out the modded OD pedals. And, the delay would probably have to be something like a DanEcho or the Carbon Copy

I'd consider the following subs with decent time to demo them:

Tuner: anything thats decent and easily available
Comp: BBE Opto or Orange Squeezer clone
Delay: MXR Carbon Copy or BBE Two-timer

Wow, this is turning out pretty good. Makes me want to rethink all the $ I have spent on boutique.
I hope that some of the high end builders don't take a hit out on me for starting this. Just kidding.
This is fun to me though as I think that there is some pretty good white bread off the shelf effects available.

damn. . . that's just not enough. . .but i'd get by. . . didn't used to be much more than that at all. i could play all the songs in my 3-4 sets though. . . i'd miss my phase. . . and my trem. . . but use 'em less than the other two modulation fx (leslie is in the dd20). i'd also like to try out a maxon af-9 in place of the boss ft-2, but they are a bit pricey. . . . even used.

    guess i could tune by korg ca-30. . . not a pedal. . . :-D

I wouldn't be happy, but I could certainly make due with this:

    Proco Rat
    MXR Micro Amp
    Boss TR-2 Tremolo
    Maxon PH-350 Phaser
    Maxon AD-999

    I play late 80's, Replacements style alt country/power pop/rock
