May have a chance to buy a used PWE horizon 2 for £ 650 gpd would mean selling my amplifire modeller and reactor. I use mild to mid gain tones plexi types. How good are these amps and would it be suitable for plexi type tones and what are the clean tones like?

For what you are looking for they will do great Plexi type tones and very nice cleans as well. Not quite top of the heap in my opinion, but they are very good all around and will be a nice step up over the Amplifire.

    Good price as well.

There's confusion as to which version is the EH2. There's the original Event Horizon and now there's the EH2 and EH3 two and three channel heads. The newer models are supposed to be considerably better, but the originals were no slouch either.

I would jump on that thing in a heart beat. It's actually on my short list. I know where there are two new ones for $2400.

That's what it was bought for and has been up for resale for a long time.
It's a tough market for them here.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the original EHs. I have a 2 channel 50 watt and it's fantastic.

Actually I guess I should say it's a "mid-stage" one. It's not on of the earliest, but it's not a newer one. It's before the actually started putting Serial #'s on them.
