Here you go. For inserting youtube videos you just need what's after the "=".

I don't know what is being used specifically, but those kind of velcro-y, gated fuzz tones are in the Fuzz Factory.

^this.
on top of that, the fuzz factory is a great all-around way to start into the world of fuzz in general.

And this!

Great song. I like rocking that riff with any gated fuzz really, but the fuzz factory does it well. My Scarab Deluxe also does it well with the bias turned down low, as I'm sure many fuzzes with bias controls could do.

I like rocking in that C tuning. I need to get a guitar set up for C. It's nice and low so I might could sing to stuff easier with my baritone ass.

He was using a Devi Ever "US" for a while, definitely some velcro tones in that one.

Yeah, this album was recorded in '97/'98 so I doubt he was using DE stuff. I do like the DE US for lead type stuff. The pedal has no bass and no low-mids, however. It's kind of a treble booster/fuzz. Great texture and great tool in the studio for sure.

Uh oh! What happened with Homme and ZVEX?

I think it was something about a super hard on they were using in the studio on everything that got fried. They sent it to zvex to get fixed and he couldn't recreate the sound the pedal gave them. Or something along those lines.

Gassing so hard for a Scarrab Deluxe right now.

They got a lot of his guitar tones on SFTD w/ a Super Hardon through an Ampeg, but the super hardon blew a capacitor amidst tracking. They called Zvex about it, he pointed them to the extra cap taped inside the enclosure because they knew they were popping.

The replaced it, but it sounded nothing like what it had before. Not super happy.

It wasn't a cap. It was the mosfet that was blowing because there was no static protection on it at the time.

If I recall, the reason it didn't sound right after is the guys from QOTSA installed it backwards.

I liked using the Skreddy BC109 for self-titled QOTSA tones. I wasn't expecting it, but I think that pedal can do a really good approximation of the self-titled tones when you play with the Bias and Tone knobs, and depending how clean or dirty you set your amp.
