Came from KCA NOS Tubes. Never used them.
I still have a brand new matched Quad of Wing'd Cs sitting in reserve.
So glad I bought from Mike when I did.
EL34 or 6L6? I've been looking for more of their 6L6s.
I'm thinking these days NOS mil spec Siemens might be a better bet than trying to find a properly matched set of SED's
I'd love a quad of good winged Cs but I think what's left now is not the best. I love Siemens but they are not recommended for high plate voltage. Mike at KCA usually has pre-winged C svetlanas which are what the good ones were but it's tough finding a quad
Mike has always been straight with me and that gets my return business.
I've tried a few other vendors and came away disappointed.
I feel like an idiot for selling my dad's tube checkers.
EL34s or 6L6s? I guess their worth whatever someone's willing to pay. Do a Google search to see if anyone still has them and see what they're charging.
What do you think are the best bet for high voltage marshalls running el34s? Something that won't break the bank for a quad
How high is high (voltage)? And what's your "break the bank" number? It's different for everybody.
520- ish volts on the plates, not sure about screens and I'd say $200 budget for a quad
Modern production only then. The new Svetlanas should handle it.
Cool thanks. You ever try the TAD el34b-str tubes? Supposed to be able to handle a lot for modern production
I also like the NS Svetlana
i would say that they are a little less than what you got them for
Haven't tried them.
Mike, if people keep track of their matching specs from the first good set, wouldn't that help in selecting subsequent matched sets?
