I just want to make sure...I've been adjusting the pickup pole pieces on my Sheraton with it plugged into my amp and then I just turn the volume down between adjustments. Turn it back up to hear...turn it down for more adjustments.

Is that okay...I won't hurt anything guitar or amp wise will I? Can you only adjust pole pieces with the guitar unplugged? Doing these kind of adjustments are something new to me.

Anyone? It must not be much of a problem.

Do it plugged. I don't turn the amp up much, but I don't turn it off when I'm working, either. The idea is to get about the same volume from all the strings. On mine, the D is usually soft, have to run the pole way up, G and B are loud, screw em in. But that's gonna depend on the pickups and strings you're running.
