Hi all....Happy New Year. I have tried contacting Ben on this but I suspect he is probably way too busy and overlooked my email......Curious if I can use a KT88 power tube in this amp? I know the tube chart says I can use 6V's, 6L's and EL34's but am looking for some feedback on if a KT88 is too much for this amp? My amp is an old, initial version which was made back in '03. Thanks in advance for your reply!!

Don't know about the version 1. I stuck a KT66 in my vesion 2 with great results. I suspect you can but don't know for sure.

Better wait to hear back from Ben. You MIGHT exceed the heater current limitation of the power transformer.

What did you find out from Ben? I have the same question...

I have not heard anything from him....I suspect he simply overlooked my email. I have not followed up with him. If you hear anything from him, please post and I'll do the same if I do. I was also considering sending my chassis back to him and having him update it with the MKIII specs. But, that's another considerable investment on my part and until I can muster up the $, I'll just keep what I have and boost it with my Friedman BE-OD.
