Question to luthiers

So recently I saw that the new EVH Wolf had the back cavities unpainted so they claim the wood can breath and age better.

Is there any truth to this? Wouldnt that potentialy also be bad for the wood? maybe to expose it to more humidity? or would it actually dry better and actually sound sweeter?

just wondering cause it totally sounds like marketing.

Trust your marketing detector. Have all of the vintage guitars we know and love been hampered in the aging process by having painted cavities?
