    Good morning everyone!

I'm collaberating on some material with fellow forum member and good friend Cpokay remotely - we're sending Sonar projects back and forth between east and west coasts via snailmail. He's writing some great material and it's a pleasure to participate in development!

I recorded some quick scratch tracks the other day and I recorded this solo. I turned the amp on (Fuchs ODS 50 SLX 1x12 combo), quickly placed a mic, and hit record. No time was spent tweaking the amp or placing the mic (SM57) so I don't know exactly what the settings were (likely 12 o'clock on everything but the master, reverb off, Jazz setting, Bright and Mid boost on as these are my usual settings). The guitar is a PRS CE24 with Seth Lovers, neck pickup with volume rolled back a little.

The solo is just a one-take scratch track and is definitely rough around the edges but the tone kills! I thought I'd post it and see what you guys think.

I'd love to do that sometime!

Here's a clip I recorded with the settings we discussed yesterday (as follows):

    Bright and Deep are off
    Rock/Jazz set to Rock
    Mid boost is on
    Treble at 11 o'clock
    Middle at 11 o'clock
    Bass at 12 o'clock
    OD-In at 11 o'clock
    OD-Out at 11 o'clock
    Master at 8:30
    Accent at 9 o'clock
    Reverb is off.

The speaker is mic'd with a Shure SM57 set in front of the outer portion of the cone and angled slightly toward the center of the speaker.

The guitar is my homebrew Strat using the bridge pickup (Lindy Fralin Unbucker PAF). For the first bar or so I have my guitar's volume pot backed off to about 8 and then I turned it up full just into the second bar (I changed the treble bleed cap this afternoon and it's just where I want it - woohoo!).

Hope the playing does not offend the ear. :D

Fuchs ODS 50 factory SLX - different settings

    How does it sound?

I'll try to make another recording - same settings but with the AKG C1000-S mic this weekend

Thanks Dennis! Sounds great. I think I like the range more this way. Better top and bottom maybe??? What do you think??

    Great playing btw!

I like it quite alot! Different feel this way - faster maybe? It sounds a touch more aggressive with better lows (more expressive lower register). The top end is pretty sweet - something I wasn't expecting with the mic placement - nice! It requires a lighter right-hand technique than the Jazz settings I've been using. I'll definitely be experimenting with the Rock setting more. Thanks Scott!

    Check your PM.

    Great clips Deja!
I liked the tone of both.
That Scottl can lead you in many great directions with your Fuchs. I just got a Fuchs 50 SLX and will be posting some clips soon also.
I will try these settings Saturday and record a clip to see how close our tone is. I've been meaning to ask Scott about his settings and recording techniques.
Keep posting. Its great to hear other players that use these unique amps.

Thanks buddy! I'm really enjoying the Fuchs. The settings that Scott suggested are very different from what I've been using - the feel is different. More expressive possibilities to explore :)
